Ekoskola Green Flag Ceremony – 5th Green Flag Award

Monday 1st March marked the day when our school proudly received the 5th Green Flag Award, meaning that our school reached the standards required for the renewal of the Green Flag for an additional 3 years.

The event was held online from San Anton Palace in Attard under the auspices of H.E. The President of Malta, Dr. George Vella and Profs Paul Pace from the University of Malta, who has been very active in promoting education for sustainable development.   All schools who were awarded the prestigious Green Flag participated and showcased their work.

Our school was represented by Ms. Sarah Vassallo and Ms. Mary Rose Formosa with the Form 2 Eko-Skola student representatives; Amy, Betha, Denise, Edrienne, Ema, Holly, Kerstin, Liza,  Marija, Michela and Sacha. The students prepared the following slogan which was read out by Edrienne during the ceremony: “A sustainable lifestyle is encouraged by all, because for our environment we stand tall.”

Additionallyeach of the Form 2 students prepared parts of the above slogan on used cardboard to represent our values during the ceremony and for display at school, where it will serve as a timely and daily reminder to our school community of our commitment towards each other and towards the environment. We know it starts from each one of us, right here and right now.
