Book Week 2024

It was a busy time at our school as we celebrated Book Week. The Student Council launched the week with an informative assembly, outlining all the activities planned for the week.
The students’ creativity could be seen in competitions such as the ‘Create a Book Scene in a Jar’, by the National Literacy Agency and our own Bookmark and Book Cover contests. It was lovely to see the entries displayed in our school foyer!
Students also submitted photos of themselves reading in unusual places for a competition organised by the Student Council.
Our library was very busy, as students tried their luck in the Book Trivia competition, with winners taking home book prizes. The lower forms enjoyed Cinema Time in the Library, watching film adaptations of two David Walliams books. The Mystery Book Checkout was a hit with our upper forms, with students selecting mystery books based solely on a descriptive card.
A special thanks goes to John A. Bonello for enriching our Book Week with his visit where he spoke about his Irvin
Vella series. He concluded with a book signing session, much to the delight of the students.
Book Week came to an end with the Dress Up as a Book Character Day. Book characters came to life and our school was transformed into a magical world with colourful and creative costumes.
Well done to everyone who participated and helped make this Book Week a memorable celebration.
